Excellent and comfortable

I’ve slept on shikibutons for over a decade now and for the price, this one is actually fantastic. It fits on my existing tatami mat perfectly and its outer material is strangely soft (in a good way). Honestly, the only thing that would have made it better is if the sheet that came with it was a full 360 encasement. Instead it’s a fairly good quality (and also strangely soft) fitted sheet like what would be used on a regular mattress, the problem with this is that it causes the corners of the mattress to curl up and fold until the sheet just comes up. Not a huge deal as I have a few existing encasements already but if you plan on using the one that comes, plan ahead on how you are going to resolve this

The mattress has a hard rib down the center. I will give it the full 48 hours to see if this goes away. I thought I would need to use this product before now but didn’t so it stayed in the box. No instructions came with it and no notice on the outside of the box telling me to take it out as soon as it arrived. (I tracked down the order and info) If this is the reason there should be clear wording saying to remove upon delivery.

There are many similar Japanese floor mattresses for sale on Amazon at this price point but I chose this brand for the extras: the coordinating fitted cover (made of soft velveteen material & washable); the two storage straps; the zippered storage/travel bag. I liked all the extras that you get with this mattress; however, the mattress itself is rather thin even after I let it plump to it actual size overnight (see pics). It's not quite the 4 inches advertised, especially once the fitted cover is placed on it, which squishes the mattresses into a slightly smaller shape. Overall, I'm ok with this purchase given the price point & the extras that came with it. Other brands of floor mattresses received similar complaints about their lack of plushness so it might just be the case with this particular type of floor mattress: they aren't futon mattresses.

We have 4 dogs, 3 are an xxl breed and one is considered a large breed. Works great as a doggie bed, will consider getting a second one so all pup dogs can have full spread out room.

I'm using this in our camper, on top of my mattress. Now I'm getting a good night's sleep!

We use this for a grandchild 11 and he loves it. He can crash anywhere on it. The cover makes it nice so you can wash it instead of the cushion!

I liked the size and look -- but the thickness is not there as described -- it is more like laying on a comforter.

Bought for guest sleeping and searched for true queen size 60x80 in description. This one fit that description but is really falls several inches short of being queen size. This is more accurately a full size. Otherwise just ok
