ThermoPro Lightning Meat Thermometer

I like the fast response time, the thin probe tip, and that it is waterproof so that I can wash it. The one thing I don't like is it is too bulky to put in my pocket. My one worry is how long the moving parts of the thermometer will last. According to the spec, the 1 second response time is how long it takes the thermometer to go from 77°F to 150°F, so for most foods, it's going to be fast. If you're checking 350°F oil temperature, it will take a few seconds. If you don't need the speed, the TP19H has all the other features for a fraction of the price. I have the TP19HW from Walmart as a backup. I really like the speed though. I'll be happy if this thermometer lasts for a few years. Edit 2025-04-12 Changed from 5 stars to 3 stars for durability. After 9 weeks of use (6 days per week) the thermometer sometimes does not turn off when I fold the probe close. When it does this, I lightly tap the thermometer on the table and it turns off. My guess is it is a loose connection because the probe swings open/close with very little friction. All other functions still work fine. I'll see how long it will be before the thermometer no longer turns off. Edit 2025-04-26 Final update After 11 weeks of use (6 days per week) the display flickers instead of turning off. I'll try to fix it. That will probably void warranties, but I really liked this thermometer when it worked, and I'm curious about the repairability of this thermometer. The end.
