Great gel memory foam bed at affordable price!

I am super happy with this dog bed for the price paid!! Pros: super simple to assemble, gel memory foam, sufficient size & thickness, high quality waterproof and top covers that are machine washable, dog seems to love it, and not so big that it takes up my entire living room (but still plenty of room for my fur baby to be comfortable!) Cons: no bolster for head support on “couch style” I was looking specifically for a gel memory foam mattress type rather than the egg crate type- which is the composition of the foam in most of the dog beds around the $50 price range and below (as in egg crate foam). I have a big dog (64 lb pitbull) and feel better giving her more support than the egg crate foam offers. Therefore, I was happy to find this Amazon basics bed at an affordable price in the bigger size I needed. I bought the gel memory foam “couch style” type at 42” x 29”. Great size for not taking up my entire living while still keeping her comfortable. My dog’s dimensions are: 28.3” chest, 18.9” neck, & 21.9” body length. With that - she is very top heavy - but short in length and has pretty short legs. This size fits her perfectly, with a little room to spare, for her to move around and get comfortable. I think it could comfortably fit a little bit more length body wise and leg wise too if your dog is a little longer. The 4” thickness of gel memory foam seems sufficient as well - ie when she’s lying down she is not sinking down to the ground. It comes with two separate layers of covers. There is a waterproof layer underneath a top cover made of a fleece material. They seem to be better quality than other beds we’ve had over the years. I honestly cover the bed with crib sheets for the ease of changing them out daily to keep her bed and my home clean. . And therefore am not having to take the cover off as often to wash it. I have washed it multiple times still though and if launders just fine. I do wish that they offered the gel memory foam with a head bolster. That’s the one downside to this bed. I purchased a separate dog pillow in hopes I could get her to lay on it, but she doesn’t quite understand the concept of it. With it being removable- it’s become a toy. I think the bolster would offer additional support for her neck that I wish it had. Her last bed had raised sides and she did lay her head on them. Overall great dog bed- excellent value for the money spent!! Other gel memory foam dog beds are quite a bit more expensive. I don’t regret this purchase at all!!!

Great bed but the zip is inferior. Very weak zipper and cannot hold the cushion in place. I want to try another, have it replaced and see what happens. Hopefully it was just one defective item.

This thing is huge. All 3 of my dogs (80 lbs, 30 lbs and the one pictured is 22 lbs) can fit on it at once. Actually, I curled up in it, myself. It was quite comfortable! Nice thick cushion. The dogs love to chew their toys on it when I'm in that room. The pictured dog is old and somewhat incontinent and somewhat a jerk. She likes to mark new beds. This one was very easy to clean, other than getting the cover on and off. The zippers function fine, but stuffing the pillows back in is always fun. Fabric is so soft, and the inner fabric around the cushion is now liquid proof, which has been a game changer! So easy to clean. Seems like it will hold up better than the beds I replaced with it.

Very good bed, well made, would recommend it. We bought large size and 70 pound dog likes it. Product was how it was depicted in picture and description. Easy to wash and put together. Bottom cushion was good but our dogs like it with more cushion so for us, it was easy to add more to the bottom cushion, used old pillows.

The dog bed is attractive, but also a bit challenging to put together. I would say the “stuffing” for the bolster section is maybe twice the size of the compartment it fits into, so it was a challenge and took a lot of effort to push it in and get it zipped. I found out the cover wasn’t waterproof after my dog had an accident on it, but the liner protected the foam cushioning from getting wet, which I appreciated. Overall, I think it was a good purchase and would recommend it.

The final result is pretty good, and I'm happy to have it. But the thing is so compressed and folded in shipping, that it takes several days (at least three depending on temperature) to assume the correct shape. At first it seems like it is glued together and you must very carefully peel it apart. Then a day later it still won't stay open, and it still isn't fluffed up. Days later in the sun and warmth it was finally close enough to stuff into the covers. I like that it has an inner liner that is also removable instead of permanent. But the foam is still too big for both the liner and the cover. Once in, the whole thing goes potato chip and won't lie flat. My dog doesn't care of course. But it doesn't look great.

We are happy with this dog bed, we are using it as a kennel pad and our Labrador chooses to spend a lot of time lounging on it in her kennel. She has the run of the house so it must be comfortable and cozy to choose that over her numerous human furniture options. Since it comes in a vacuum bag expect a couple of days for it to expand and take its final shape.
