These cages are exactly what I needed! They do the job protecting my critters from coming in contact with the hot bulbs with the exception of my baby snakes. I thought they were too big to squeeze through the space they provided to allow room for the cord. I was wrong and found one curdle up around the uvb bulb socket (thankfully it was just the uvb). This issue is easily fixed by adding some magic clay to fill the gap until they get a little bigger and can't fit any more.
