Great fan, horrible remote

The fan itself is great. Good amount of airflow for its size and the noise level is perfect for sleeping. However, after purchasing two fans, I still don't have a remote that works. Straight from the box the remotes lasted two or three days. Changed the batteries and got another day or two. Wanted to be able to trim the fan on/off from bed as needed, unable to do so with the terrible remotes provided.
