Good beginner set

I was going to try my hand at silk screening my own Christmas cards this year. This set is perfect for the beginner. There is a good basic color selection, and the photo emulsion is included. I wish my results were good enough to share, but it is trickier than I expected, so I am back to watching a few more videos before I try again. It is fun, even when my results are iffy, and these inks do work well.
Good set, but not really a beginner/starter set.

This is a good set of silkscreen ink and emulsion. However calling it a starter set is a little disingenuous. You need at least a screen and a squeegee along with the ink and emulsion to really call it a starter set. In addition this says this is for beginners but it has a very minimalist set of instructions on how to use the emulsion and really nothing else. This is only a beginner kit in as much as it has a variety of different ink colors and small bottle of emulsion and diazo. This is no where near being a beginners kit. You already need to know what you are doing if you really want to make use of this kit and will need more to get started. The emulsion works and I was able to get a clear image with sharp edges. The inks themselves are nice and smooth and squeegee through the screen without problem. The six colors of ink (black, white, blue, red, yellow, and green) are all nice rich and intense colors. They definitely provide a good selection of colors for someone just getting into silk screening. I used a household iron to heat set the ink and there were no problems with the ink fading or coming off. I mark this down a bit because they are marketing it as a starter/beginner kit and it isn't. This is misleading and they don't state in the item description or page that more things are needed to make use of it. It will lead to people buying it and then being surprised that they don't have enough to do anything.
Great
