Love it!

Works great. Labels print quickly & stick well but if you need to swap spots they’ll come off with a little love and not leave a residue. No problems connecting to our phone but there are troubleshooting options and they worked for him on the initial install. Love the size and is well made! We’ve been thru two rolls of labels already.

Low resolution, occasional white spots, only one font
By Tropylium on Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2025
I'm considering returning this Nelko P21 printer, but it was only $19, and I might use it again. I am unlikely to buy more label stock for it, though. The labels are a fixed size (it comes with 14 by 40 mm labels), which is not terrible, but it's mostly bad. On the plus side, it's easy to center the contents of the label, and you don't have to trim it. The resolution is allegedly 203 dpi, which SOUNDS better than the Brother label printers (180 dpi), but thin lines will look uneven, and very thin lines will have gaps. Small letters will be hard to read. The resolution is bad enough that you can't REALLY have 2 lines of text on one 14mm label - you can, but occasionally a letter will be illegible, and that might make the word illegible. The Brother prints 12mm labels (slightly smaller) but can very easily do 2 lines of text. The software will not ALLOW you to write 2 lines of text as a single "text element". You will need to make two text elements and put one above the other. So god forbid you decide to "move a line break", you will need to delete from one line, type into the other line, and then re-align both of them. It occasionally fails to print a patch, resulting in a white patch (or blank patch, to be precise), which can waste a whole label. It seems to only have one font. If it has more than one font, I couldn't find it, and the instruction manual DEFINITELY does not mention it. It doesn't seem to do italics or bold - and the instruction manual doesn't even hint at this, there are no example pictures with italics or bold. It doesn't have an "off" switch, so hopefully it doesn't simply drain its battery while idle. It doesn't have a battery status indicator. How much battery is left? I don't know, better just charge it. The labels are actually not bad, in terms of material and adhesive. They are glossy, they are harder to tear than paper (but not especially tough), they are about as sticky as I probably want. I don't want them as sticky as duct tape. These are probably "indoor labels", though. If you want to label something that might get rain on it, or that might be wiped down, then you can slap a layer of Scotch tape over the label. The software (for iPhone) was pretty easy to use, and it has a "print history", which is actually kind of nice. You can see ALL the labels you printed, including each different version of each template you have used. The software has some problems, though: It has a few date formats, but NONE include the day of the week at all. No "Fri" or "Friday", just numbers. It does not have enough time formats, they are all 24-hour, no ability for "AM" or "PM". The software does not support "undo" in any way, not for typing, not for pressing the "clear label" button. And the "clear label" button is NOT well labeled, it is an icon of a broom, not a trash can or a word. It has an elastic strap for no clear reason. It cannot be removed. The roll of tape clunks around inside it, there is no spindle through the center, it is just a roll sitting in a U-shaped hollow compartment. Regular handling causes the label tape to clunk around. It doesn't fill me with confidence, but it isn't necessarily a problem. It could use more than one button and more than one light, but it has only one button and only one light. The manual says that you need to press the button twice to print the test label, but in fact pressing it just once prints a test label, which feels wasteful. It could use an "on/off" switch or dedicated button. If I could add a second button, that would be it. I don't hate it, but other printers are so much better. It is clearly better than nothing. But I am giving it only 2 stars so that you look elsewhere (and I might suggest Brother, or if you have more money, Zebra). Yeah, I might actually return this.
