Better than expected; would buy again.

I wanted to replace my standard tote bins for front opening ones in order to easily access my fabric stash--these are doing what I wanted. They're very sturdy, and were easy and quick to set up. I was really nervous when I dragged the box inside (I bought a 6 pack, and it was HEAVY--I have no idea how the Amazon driver walked it up my apartment building stairs), because a return would have been a nightmare--but luckily everything was packed really nice and nothing was broken. At first didn't realize that the retaining rim and lid were nested under each crate--these each come with their own lid, which I wasn't necessarily expecting, but appreciate nonetheless. I was able to transfer the contents of 4 top loading bins of roughly the same capacity to 6 of these---the space can't be used the same way because these bins can't be stuffed the way a top loading bin can be. That's fine with me, because the ease of access is a higher priority. The only issue I have is that the top bins don't like the extra weight I'm currently sporting on them, and the doors tend to stick a little and not want to close. It hasn't been a big deal--i lift the middle of the lid just a little (and I mean a little--the strength of a thumb and finger) and everything keeps working. They do look a little like a bank of toaster overs, but these look so much better than the stack of tote bins they replaced.

What's the point of those boxes?
By czaky on Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2025
They are terribly bad for moving. The wheels fall off too quickly. Cannot act as a drawer. The front access is difficult and requires to fill the container to only about 1/4 of the max volume to be practical. The locking mechanism is flimsy and breaks if exposed to normal level of force. There are holes all around the containers, which does not make it pest secure at all. For the same reason, it is not good as storage of powder, grains, or liquid. Also, you need a good storage space, far from elements. Moisture and dust are easy to get in. They don't provide a respectable view. Maybe good for some ad-hoc shanty town. But than too expensive, and would not stand the bad conditions. I honestly thought those are sturdy and would be great for basement storage. At this point, I wonder if there is any use-case for those flimsy boxes.
