Nice rolled edges, perfect size for one sheet cooking
By Renee on Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2024
I’m comparing this to my other big name-brand aluminum sheet tray: this one is slightly lighter in weight, but has nice, thick rolled edges. (Which is what gives it stability and stops it from warping when hot.) The large size is perfect for one sheet cooking or roasting nuts, veggies, etc.. The cooling rack is a great size too, but love that it’s slightly smaller than the sheet so that it sits inside for easy storage. It easily cools about 18 cookies. (Dozen and a half, 2.5 inch cookies.) Baking/Roasting: used at both 350ºF and 425 with no warping and even roasting. Instead of oiling we used either parchment paper or a silicon baking mat. Cleans up so much easier that way. Cleaning: I would never put this in the dishwasher, because it would tarnish over time. All aluminum will turn a little dusty black over time if used with harsh dishwasher chemicals. We hand wash and then leave the bottom side/edge facing downward in the dish drying rack, so that any water in the rolled edge can make it’s way out. Usually dries fully overnight. Storage: mine fits under the oven—it’s only half the width of my oven drawer, and the cooling rack nestles into the pan. I see no disadvantage between this Chicago recycled aluminum sheet and my non-recycled sheet. Would definitely recommend, especially with it being a good value, 2-piece set.

Better for roasting than baking
By LegoGirl on Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2024
A baking sheet with an appropriately-fitted rack has lots of uses, but this particular one I found works far better for roasting meat/veg than it does for baked goods like cookies and cakes. That's a slight disappointment for me because I was hoping to use this pan for baking thin roulade sponges. Roasted veggies came out great on this pan, and no popping/warping in the oven. I also tried it for roasting chicken thighs (with the rack), and they came out nice too. Unfortunately, my swiss roll cake did not bake evenly in this pan and neither did sugar cookies---and yes, I rotated the pan while baking. The bottoms of both cake and cookies were unevenly browned which I assume has to do with the actual weight/thickness (or the fact that this is recycled aluminum...?).
