Secura Ice Cream Maker, 1QT

For the record, I am reviewing: Secura Ice Cream Maker, DIY Visualization Ice Cream Machine for Gelato, Sorbet, Frozen Yogurt, Perfect for Beginners, Food Grade Safe Material, 1QT First, I got this for only $13.09 due to it being on sale, and having a coupon deal. I wanted an ice cream maker that would make enough for two people. Now it is on sale for $10.57 plus an additional %15 percent off. GET ONE NOW. I just bought a second one. Okay for the review: The product description is deceiving, it says it is a 1 quart unit and they are correct the bowel is 1 quarts in size, but the maximum amount of liquid that you are supposed to add, according to the instructions, is only 12 ounces. However, once the unit does it job the ice cream expands and you much more than you put into it due to the churning. It is enough for two adults if you're not starving. So, if you are the kind of person that buys a regular size B&J or Haagen-Dazs and only eats half at a time you are going to be happy with the amount that you get. I used a recipe off the internet that called for 15 egg yolks and I halved that recipe to make a double batch for this unit. I used 1 cup of heavy cream, 1.5 cups of whole milk, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 can of sweetened condensed milk, a little vanilla, a pinch of salt, and a quarter cup of Chocolate powder. It came out amazing. The thing is this, you have to make sure the freezer bowl is completely frozen, and I cooled my recipe mix in the refrigerator over night so that the mix was cold to start. WOW, it worked really well, I turned the unit on and came back about 30 minutes later and the ice cream was soft consistency like you get from a commercial soft serve machine. The lid when the ice cream is done churning is difficult to remove due to the lid freezing on the unit but a paper towel to add grip strength was all I needed to unlock the unit. Clean up was easy, the unit is quiet, and I could not be more happy. Well if it came in different colors maybe. Conclusion: BUY THIS NOW THAT IS IS ON SALE. I am really happy with this purchase and as I said, I just bought a second on at an even lower price. YEE HAA!
