Very poor quality, but gets the job done

Buyer beware: this shelf is so low quality it's actually shocking. It's like they purposely picked the cheapest materials to make a shelf with. I put this thing together by eyeballing it (the only instructions are in Chinese but luckily there are pictures). It comes with a hex key and screws to assemble the product. The wooden dowels do not actually have any threaded inserts—you just have to use brute force to fit the screws into the holes in the wood. Before I even finished assembling the shelf, a piece of wood chipped off. I expect this shelf to be the cause of many splinters. There are random spots of glue, chips, and scratches on the wood. I'm happy that I didn't get this shelf for the aesthetics but rather to store my excess of books. I would not suggest purchasing this shelf as a decorative accent because it is of poor craftsmanship and low quality.
