Well made and keeps room cold
By MaryEE on Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2025
Great product. We needed this during our hot desert summer. Our swamp cooler could only handle one floor at a time. We kept this in our bedroom upstairs and closed all the vents upstairs. The swamp cooler kept the first floor cool and this kept the upstairs relatively cool. Our upstairs is about 500 sqft. So, we didn’t expect it to cool the whole upstairs but it did a pretty good job. Our room was very cold. It’s customizable which we loved. It is a little loud but we didn’t mind, It’s like white noise. It is a bit bulky but not as heavy as you’d think. Keep in mind the hose that comes with it makes it less portable than expected. It’s about 5ft long and needs to be attached to a window. In other reviews I saw that they had issues with the water drainage but we have only had to dump the water twice in 3 months. It’s not a lot of water either and pretty simple. As for durability, it seems really well made and I can see us using this for years. We’ll be putting it away for winter but it’s super useful for the summers.

Not as great as I hoped

Why did you pick this product vs others?: For  $230, I not too Impressed.  Im using this unit in a bedroom that close to 150sqft. And has a lot of stuff in it filling up space. Right now, were experiencing our first heatwave (saint Louis) When the BR is upwards of 92-95 degrees, the unit seems to really struggle to get the room temp below 83. Unless I'm lying in front of it blowing directly on me, it's not very cool in the room, so it would seem, but when I transfer back and forth from the hot rooms to the AC room, it's much noticable. I was hoping the unit would work so good Id have to turn it down/off. But also to consider, Im overweight, unclothed and from the north, so theres that too.  On these hot days, Im also surprised at how much water drains...I fill a 5 gallon bucket in about 14-15hrs of use. Not sure if thats all from the humidity filtration from the room or much from when the unit has to defrost itself. The theramostat right now says 59% and its been running for 7hrs. I haven't seen a full electric bill yet from using it a lot every day, but from the partial use in may, I think this setup up will be a good $60 cheaper per month compared to using my apartments central air. Overall, its seems Ok..I was going to buy a 2nd unit as a back up or even to use for the entire small one BDRM apartment, but from what Ive seen so far, dont think itd be worth it.  Ill wait and see if it lasts the whole summer as far as BDRM backup goes
