Amazing Mattress
By OverLord on Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2024
We decided on the spur of the moment to finally upgrade our mattress during this past prime day sale and ended up getting a great deal on the King sized Nectar Mattress. It was half off, I’ve heard great things about these beds in the past and after carefully doing some research just to make sure it would fit our needs, decided why the heck not and purchased the bed. It came within three days and after setting up a new bed frame for it we unboxed it-which I would do with help as the box is heavy and the sealed plastic covering the bed is a little harder to get off alone, although I’m sure someone could do it by themselves but would be much easier with help. Some reviews said the bed takes days to fully inflate but ours inflated fully within moments, almost instantly. The picture attached to my review is taken not even twenty minutes after we unboxed the bed. It is firm but also has the memory foam feel that has your body sinking in slightly and conforming to your body as you lay down. I’m a shorter, bigger woman about 260 lbs and it’s just the right amount of soft and firm for me. I add that because some people have suggested that the hybrid model mattress is a better fit for larger people as the medium firm model may be too firm and uncomfortable for larger bodies. I’m so ridiculously comfortable and relaxed in this bed and have slept better than I have in quite a while so that’s not the case for me at least. My fiancé is about 190 and taller and he’s equally comfortable and satisfied with the bed. This is simply the best mattress we’ve had in ages, only to be rivaled with our old Tempur-Pedic we had years ago which was the best sleep I ever got on any mattress in my twenty some years of life. This bed is up there on that level though and more affordable so I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase. If your debating whether to buy this bed or not I wouldn’t wait, amazing sleep and comfort are just an order away!

Too Firm and given the runaround on returning
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2024
After years of sleeping in a queen bed, my husband and I finally decided to splurge on a king-sized mattress. Having purchased this same Nectar mattress (in a twin-size) for our young daughter, we were sold on getting the same version for us in a king. The twin Nectar that we own is amazing, very supportive, and so comfortable. I only wish the king-sized version could be described similarly. In comparison, the king mattress feels Ike sleeping on a brick. Where the twin mattress hugs the body, the king size does not. The manufacturer-supplied paperwork that came in the Nectar box encourages customers to give the memory foam 30 days time to fully expand and mentions the importance of sleeping on the mattress in different seasons to get a full and fair experience. Relying on the promise of a “365-day trial” and a "forever warranty" noted over and over, I felt assured that I could give the mattress a fair shot before making a final judgment on its comfort. After months of tossing and turning and both my husband and I agreeing that this mattress just is not comfortable nor is it at all in the same ballpark for comfort as its twin counterpart, I contacted Nectar directly to begin the return-process. I was told by Nectar that since I purchased through Amazon, I would need to deal with Amazon for returns. This made little sense to me since manufacturers usually prefer to handle this type of issue themselves. However, after some back and forth with Nectar, I did contact Amazon. Once I was able to speak with an actual human at Amazon, I was immediately told I needed to speak directly with Nectar. Now, doubly frustrated, I explained that I had already been in contact with Nectar and was told by Nectar that I must deal with this via Amazon. The Amazon associate, finally, after some doing, agreed to refund my money and told me that I would not be responsible for sending product back (due to its prohibitively large size and the nature of the product). However, after a week or so, I was not refunded. I then had to spend a long time, over weeks, dealing with Amazon to recoup my money. This included one conversation with a kind though perhaps naive associate who told me I could simply “fold up the product and leave it on the porch for pick up” after initiating a return. I explained over and over again in a variety of ways how one does not just “fold” an 80-pound foam mattress and that it was originally vacuum-packed in a relatively small box, a process I don’t possess the technology for at my home. I told her I’d have no problem leaving it for pick up but that she would have to provide a reasonable way for me to do that. After being given the runaround and speaking to no less than five people, I was granted a refund and told to dispose of or donate the product. This experience was so much harder than it needed to be. The marketing for the Nectar mattress boasts the “longest trial” in the business and yet the manufacturer does not honor that guarantee. Amazon clearly isn’t prepared to handle honoring that either. I’m thankful that Amazon did finally refund my money to “make it right” but it was like pulling teeth to get to that point. I warn anyone interested in this mattress in a king-size, to look elsewhere. Perhaps if I’d purchased directly through the Nectar site, I would have been treated like a true Nectar customer and granted the privilege of their trial claims. Purchasing here on Amazon, through the official Nectar store, turned out to be a mistake. The experience with this mattress has proven to be both a literal and figurative pain in the neck.
