SKG Feather Neck Bed Pillows

I really like feather pillows for their soft weightlessness, but I also like the support of memory foam pillows, so I thought this one might be a perfect combo. It is a nice pillow, but it's quite thick by the time you put the two layers together, so it's best for back or side sleepers who like their head and neck propped up a bit. I have managed to sleep on my stomach with my head on just the corner of this pillow, but I wouldn't say it's the best pillow for that because of the curved shape and thickness. It comes air sealed/compressed in a box. I put the pillow in the tumble dryer after opening to fluff it up. It didn't have any chemical smell, which is appreciated in bedding especially. There are instructions on the box for how to use the pillow for back, side, or stomach sleeping, but I found it to best for only back sleeping. The layering of the thin feather pillow on top of the thicker foam pillow does create a cradling of your head that's nice when laying down. The pillow cases are sewn together in the middle, so they are loose on the sides, and this allows the feather pillow top to curl up on the sides a bit, adding to the cradle effect. The removable memory foam pillow inside the cotton pillowcase is sort of quilted to have a curved shape, too, sewn in the middle area so that it's thicker on the sides than in the middle, again lending itself to be best for back sleeping because it really centers your head in the middle of the pillow (most pillows are thickest in the middle and then taper off on the sides, so this pillow is designed to do the opposite). For someone trying to train themselves to be a back sleeper, a pillow that encourages that by making side/stomach sleeping more difficult, like this one, might be a good option. The pillow is quick large and didn't really fit my pillowcase well as you can see in the picture (the case just barely covered the pillow with no extra at the end). You may need an extra large king size case for this pillow. In addition to the length, the thickness of the pillow made it difficult to get in the case, too, and the feather pillow (since it's not sewn down on the ends) had to be stuffed and straightened separately after I got that case most of the way on. It's almost like stuffing two separate pillows into a single pillow case. I don't see much difference between having the feather pillow and the foam pillow connected versus just having two separate pillows that would easily fit into their own pillowcases and then get stacked, but I suppose that having the two pillows sewn together means that they won't slip around while you are sleeping like two separate pillows might. In conclusion, this is a large, good quality pillow with a shape that's best for back sleeping.
