Yes, technically this Blender DOES have 1.3 horses pulling the blades. But that doesn't mean you should take it literally.

"Miller," said Hinkle.

"What is it, Hinkle?" answered Miller.

"I was just wondering… do you think a horse would be capable of chopping up a good salsa?"

Miller didn't answer right away. First, he leaned over and stopped the tape recorder.

"Hinkle, I'm gonna erase that question because I don't want the boys at the station to think you're a moron. But before I do, I want you to look me in the eyes and answer this question… have you been drinking?"

Hinkle held up his hands. "No, no, nothing more than coffee! I was just noticing the Bon Appetit Blender on the counter in one of the apartments and I looked it up, and it's 1.3 Horsepower."

Miller nodded. "Slightly more than a horse."

"Yeah!" Hinkle slapped the desk cheerfully. "And I know about the unique dual serrated blade system that a horse doesn't have, but if we spot it that… could a horse make salsa?"

Miller looked through the wall with a thousand yard stare. "This is the kind of thing I used to talk about with my senior partner when I first started."

"Oh yeah?" asked Hinkle. "What happened to him?"

Miller reached for the recorder. "He was found dead in a horse pasture, covered in salsa. Take my advice and keep your mind on the job."

Hinkle nodded slowly and went back to the binoculars. After a few seconds of thought, he turned back to Miller.

"Are you just %$#&ing with me?"

Miller nodded without smiling. "That's the kind of day it is, rookie. But now you've got me wanting Mexican for lunch."
