These are great, but there isn't a towel on Earth that could completely absorb last night's mistake.

Danielle tied the red ribbon around the 6-piece Home Source Towel Set she had purchased for Phil and then set it aside, wondering if it was even a good idea to give it to him. She cringed when she thought about the random afternoon romp, and cursed those mimosas. As it turns out, six servings of liquid motivation was all it took to burst through the "friends only" zone she had strictly delineated between the two of them.

"How could you be so stupid, Danielle?" she said aloud to herself. "Stupid stupid stupid!"

Perhaps more cringeworthy, however, was the state of Phil's bath towels, which she discovered when she emerged from the orange juice and champagne fog to take a shower. His were rags. Filthy, scratchy, stinking rags. Nothing at all like the super soft and super absorbent Home Source towels with 100% long staple of very fine cotton she had vowed to buy him as a peace offering for when she had to let him down easy … again. Though she knew it was going to be anything but.

She ran her hand over the good 600 GSM cotton towels, rated the best by Real Simple magazine. After what she had done and what she knew she had to do, she wouldn't be surprised if Phil rated her the worst human being in the world.
