We must admit that we haven't been following the NBA this year and so we were unaware that not only are the Heat not in the finals, they didn't even make the playoffs. We apologize, but to be honest, it's difficult to get excited about basketball considering we're in Seattle and the Sonics haven't had a winning season in forever!

Update: Again thanks everyone for the emails. We here on the Woot writing team are both surprised and saddened to learn that the Super Sonics moved to Oklahoma City and are now the Thunder. This is a blow to sports in our town. Although, at the end of the day, what this really teaches us is to appreciate the world-class athletes that we do have here in Seattle. Like Ichiro.

Update: Wow, you guys sure do read carefully. So, as many of your emails have claimed, Ichiro was actually traded to the Yankees a few years ago. Whoops! Anyway, we tip our hat to you, Mr. Suzuki, and wish you the best in the Big Apple!

Update: Okay, it turns out Ichiro is on the Marlins now. Weird. Must be tough to go to Oklahoma City after living in Seattle and New York. Update: Right, the Marlins are in Miami. Our bad. Should've known, considering a marlin is a seabird.
