Before his Rosle 25000 Charcoal BBQ Grill Rod was like a samurai. His stance was so perfect, he could find the sausages even with his eyes closed, going by sound alone. He knew the smell of a perfect steak down to the smallest degree of rare. But he was still no master. He had yet to solve the riddle of the smoked turkey.
Rod was in his "training robes" and standing in front of the open hinged 45 degree lid. They weren't real robes, they were just grey sweats and a "Kiss The Cook!" apron, but Rod believed 90% of grilling was in the mind, so that was where his battle would be fought. He imagined himself standing before a long bridge, facing off against his opponent at the other end. Rod balanced his weight between his legs, picturing himself as though hanging from a string. As the charcoal heat slowly grew, he arrogantly started his mushroom kebabs, just so he'd have something to eat while he waited. This turkey wasn't going to be cook as quickly as a few sausages might. And it wouldn't do to show weakness.
In the grill tool holder he had his tongs. They didn't come with the Rosle 25000 Charcoal BBQ Grill, they'd been a gift from Sylvia. They were custom made, with a little etched drawing of a wild-eyed Toshiro Mifune on the handle. No one else was allowed to touch the Mifune tongs but Rod. There was plenty of room when the dome was closed, and the dome-top thermometer gave him some idea of the temperature. Rod gripped the heat resistant handles and bowed a deep bow. He loved his Rosle 25000 Charcoal BBQ Grill, but today there was no place for love. Today the Rosle 25000 Charcoal BBQ Grill was his enemy. And it would bow before his demands to smoke his turkey… or be destroyed.
Although Rod was pretty sure he wouldn't actually destroy his Rosle 25000 Charcoal BBQ Grill. He liked hamburgers too much.
