There's something strange in the neighborhood ...

Admittedly, Rod was a little creeped out by this kid. He always seemed to pop up out of nowhere and sneak up on you when you least expected it.

"Hey, Mister. Whatcha doin?"

"Jeez, kid! You scared me," Rod said with a jump. "What's your name again? Timmy? Well, Timmy. I'm just cleaning up this Troy-Bilt lawn mower of mine. I'm moving, so I need to sell it. Interested?"

"Aww, golly. It sure is a beaut. I bet I could make 2 whole dollars a lawn with something like that."

"Two dollars, huh? I think you might be undercutting yourself there, kid."

"Yeah, but I bet I could cut double the lawns since I wouldn't have to rake up the clippings. If I did two lawns a day every day after school, that'd be 10 whole dollars a week! Gee whiz, I could buy like 100 packs of baseball cards!"

"Whatever you say, kid. I tell you what, if you mow my lawn once a week until I sell the house, I'll give you the mower for free. How does that sound?"

"Aww gee, Mister! Do ya mean it? That sure would be swell!"

"Of course I mean it. Wait right here and I'll go get the manual for you so you can see how to adjust the deck height. It's got nine positions …"

But when Rod turned around, Timmy was gone.
